Chief Sales Officer (CSO)
This is an exciting early opportunity to join a new UK based Peer-to-Peer (P2P) FinTech start-up moving up the value chain from Diaspora* Remittances (money transfers) to Diaspora Impact Investments including a strong emphasis on local community development through philanthropic partnerships.
The FinTech aims to provide cheaper financing options to export-focused SMEs in Emerging Market Diaspora home countries through various asset financing options – invoice finance, supply chain finance, and export finance. Longer term it will also offer other Diaspora Finance products through mobile money wallets.
The company is at a pre-seed stage of funding and is now establishing its management team. This provides a unique opportunity to come on board and help shape the vision and product pipeline delivery as part of the company’s success story.

Roles and Responsibilities
Accountable for Sales Strategy, operations (planning & budgeting, forecasting, monitoring & analytics, cashflow, controls), and company sales representation around:
- Accelerator programmes
- Pre-Seed Grants
- Seed
- Series A, B, and C Funding Rounds
- Internal Management Reporting and KPIs
- Press Releases
- Regulatory, Investor Community
Essential Skills
- Sales Director with previous FinTech Start-Up experience of delivering on Sales Strategy to monetise business and achieve 10x Growth.
- Sales, Marketing, and Advertising in mobile & web digital channels primarily but also TV and print media.
- Proven experience in building, implementing, and running sales processes and systems.
- Trouble-shooter with hands-on sales experience who enjoys getting their hands dirty and helping team members unblock issues ensuring continued momentum towards agreed milestones.
- Visionary with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills who thrives on problem-solving, building relationships, and working collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial and digital environment.
- Punchy and precise verbal and written presentation skills to pull together and deliver pitch decks on sales.
- Able to articulate company sales and monetisation strategy to the investor community and other stakeholders.
- Passion for working in an environment motivated not just by profit but also impact.
Desirable Skills
